English Premier League – World Championship of Managers

Premier League is one of the most interesting football championships in the world. Every player has a dream to play for a club in the best football league. Clubs are very rich, supported from sponsorship mostly from Middle East and America. Offering wealthy contracts they are magnet for the greatest football players all over the planet.

Except the amazing players who play in the league, this season there is something else that makes the English Premier League so special. This season the league is more competitive because of the presence of the biggest names in coaching: Pep Guardiola is the new Manchester City boss, Jose Mourinho is at Manchester United, Antonio Conte has taken over Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp is Liverpool’s manager while Arsene Wenger is still the Arsenal boss. Together with Claudio Ranieri, the manager of the last year champions Leicester City, Mauricio Pochettino the main man at Tottenham Hotspur, Ronald Koeman as Evertons manager and Walter Mazzarri at Watford, there are so many ambitious people and the expectations are spectacular and dramatic season.

Here is a short overview of the managers that supporters expect mostly:

Arsène Wenger, French football manager who is leading Arsenal since 1996 (20 years). He has won 3 English Premier League titles, 6 English FA Cups and 6 English Community Shields for Arsenal. Also has won 2 French Ligue 1, and 1 Coupe de France.

José Mourinho, Portuguese professional football manager has taken over the red side of Manchester, the Manchester United football club from Louis van Gaal. Mourinho has won 23 titles in 4 different countries: England (Chelsea and Manchester United), Spain (Real Madrid), Italy (Inter) and Portugal (Porto). The most important trophies won from the controversial manager are: 3 English Premier Leagues (Chelsea), 2 Italian Serie A (Inter), 1 Spanish La Liga (Real Madrid) and 2 UEFA Champions Leagues (Porto and Inter).


Pep Guardiola, Spanish football manager and player is the new manager of Manchester City. In his managerial career he has won 21 trophies. Most important are 3 Spanish La Liga (Barcelona), 3 German Bundesliga (Bayern Munich) and 2 UEFA Champions Leagues (Barcelona).


Antonio Conte, Italian football manager currently managing Chelsea. He has won 3 Italian Serie A titles with Juventus.

Jürgen Klopp, German football manager who is managing Liverpool. He has won 2 German Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund where he promotes himself in one of the best football managers in Europe.

Despite the presence of the world’s greatest managers, the players are those ones who make the difference on the pitch. So many candidates for the title, but who will win we’ll see in the end.
